the OG blog post was incoherent so i decided to replace it with an even more incoherent rant. anyways, one of my friends has a habit of making sexist jokes about women's intelligence. while i obviously know he's joking, it's made me realize how i've come to internalize the fact that women are intellectually inferior to men.
i obviously don't believe this is true, nor do i think making sexist jokes should be socially acceptable. but in just the short span of a year, i've gone from becoming a publicly spoken advocate of women in STEM and other male-dominated fields to becoming basically silent about it.
